About
The Buxton is a wine bar and hotel at the foot of Brick Lane in East London. Nestled at the crossroads of Spitalfields, Hackney, and Aldgate, The Buxton is a place to rest, recharge in the heart of one of the city’s most historic neighbourhoods.
On the ground floor, our wine bar and plant-filled terrace offer a carefully curated selection of low-intervention wines, cocktails, and local beers. Our seasonal small plates highlight the best produce from local suppliers, creating simple, thoughtful dishes to be shared and enjoyed. Upstairs, 15 compact and thoughtfully designed rooms are ready to welcome the modern traveller, complete with rooftop garden with sweeping views of the city skyline.

The Buxton takes its name from 18th century local Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton – MP, brewer, abolitionist, and social reformer. His dedication to community and driving positive change inspires our mission: to make hospitality a force for good. One day, one person, one pint, one (wine) glass, one meal, one smile at a time.
As a Certified B Corporation, we’re proud to be part of a community of companies working together for change, and taking part in collective action to advocate for a shared goal of a global economy that benefits people and the planet. The Buxton is part of The Culpeper Family. A group of four pubs and restaurants across East and North London – The Culpeper near Spitalfields, The Buxton on Brick Lane, The Duke of Cambridge in Islington and The Green in Clerkenwell.
